When I started with NES, in 2014, it was much better run. The owners actually showed they cared. I used to say I would retire from there. As time progressed, it became apparent that the owners either stopped caring, or never did, and just did a better job of making it look that way. After almost 8 years, I have finally left a place that is more verbally abusive to their employees than anything. Its a sad day when the owner of a multi-million dollar company thinks he can come out and call you a bitch, or talk to another employee about you, calling you a son-of-a-bitch, when all you did was move some pvc pipe, trying to make more sense out of the way it's stocked. Furthermore, this is the place you go to when you want to do your job, and the job of 3 other people. If you complain, it falls on deaf ears, with empty promises. or you might get the more blunt comment of "stop crying" from the owner. You never know what you will get from day-to-day, as the customers are allowed to completely run over any semblance of regularity in your day. For example, Norcross Electric Supply offers same day delivery. Technically, it's same day delivery, if your order is in by 9:30a.m. What it actually is, is that it's same day delivery with no real cut-off time for same-day-delivery. the counter sales people, the owner, the invoicer, the warehouse manager, or any other Joe-blow, that decided to pickup the phone, take an order, and tell the customer it will be there that day, can throw a monkey wrench in your plans at the drop of dime. As Long as your truck is still parked in the parking lot, you are subject to having more stops added to your route. Even if it's noon. Even more, there is no actual training happening there. Not for the warehouse personell, at least. It's literally the blind leading the blind. There are 3 people in the warehouse, that have been there at least 3 month’s, one of them since February, that still require major hand holding, because they were never really trained. You have a warehouse manager that is much better suited in other places, but not being warehouse manager. He Doesn’t know the routes. He’s doesn’t really know the material, because he never really was trained, himself, but he’s required to check pallets for accuracy on pallets of stuff that he really doesn’t know what it is. In return, customers get their orders wrong ALL THE TIME. About 80% of their customers will be rude to you at one point in time or another, even if it had nothing to do with you, and you will receive no support from the owners. The communication is at an absolute minimum. For example, the owners will put an account on credit hold. They will call you and tell you to not sell anymore material to this customer. What they won’t tell you is when the customer has paid on that account and is off credit hold. So, the customer comes to get more material, and you respectfully deny him/her. Now he/she is mad because they’ve paid on the account, and they’ve been shopping with Norcross for so long, and if this is how its going to be, then they will take their business elsewhere. In the end, its all a big misunderstanding, that could have been avoided with communication. To keep going, Nocross Electric Supply’s database is a joke. They give customer’s quotes on material, but half the time, they don’t input those quoted prices in the system, so the biller has to spend the time to rebill, when the customer calls and complaints about wrong pricing. That happens regularly. To end my rant, I was Norcross Electric’s Main invoicer for 4 years. In those 4 years, per the owner’s request, I billed every #4 bare copper coil at 200’ per coil, even though the owner knew that the coils come in 198’ coils. Makes you wonder how much money they’ve stolen from their customers in time.
